Goodwine founded our firm, when he purchased the Fife Funeral Home in Palestine, IL which he continued to operate until 1957 when his son, James M. Goodwine, returned to join his father in business. Two additional funeral homes were subsequently purchased, the Bond Funeral Home in Flat Rock, IL and the Buchanan Funeral Home in Robinson, IL. James Douglas Goodwine, the third generation of Goodwines' joined the firm in 1987. Our firm was honored to be selected for membership in both the "Order of the Golden Rule" and " Selected Independent Funeral Homes." In addition, our firm holds memberships in the Illinois Funeral Directors Association, the Indiana Funeral Directors Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association. During the past year a survey by the "Selected Independent Funeral Homes" told us 100% of the families we served would call us again. We are pleased with this survey, but pledge that we will continue to provide the very best service while ensuring that our prices remain reasonable. We are family owned and answer only to you our client family, and not to out of state corporate entities that are becoming common in funeral service.
