EDWIN LEE FOX
Edwin Lee Fox, 78 of Robinson, IL, died at 6:17 p.m. (E.D.S.T.). Saturday, October 14, 2006 at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute of an apparent heart attack. He was born September 13, 1928 in Palestine, the son of Edwin Maxwell Fox and Hazel Katherine Brashear Fox.
Lee was retired from Marathon Oil Co. on July 1, 1986. He began his career at Marathon on May 19, 1948 in the Accounting Dept and retired after 41 years of service. He graduated from Palestine High School in 1946 and attended Vincennes Business School. He served in the U. S. Army from May 6, 1951 to April 13, 1953 in the Dental Corp. in Germany. Lee was a member of the Robinson First United Methodist Church; the Robinson Elks Lodge #1188; and the Robinson American Legion Post #69 for the past 53 years. He was an avid bow hunter and a fisherman. He enjoyed reading western novels.
Lee married Juanita V. Newman on March 18, 1955 and she survives. He is also survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Jon Alan and Kathy Fox, Springfield, IL, Jeff Alden and Peggy Fox, Terre Haute, IN; his daughter and son-in-law, Katy Lee and Dr. Gregg Smith, Sullivan, IN; his 6 grandchildren: Lauren E. Fox, Andrea K. Fox, Nicholas E. Fox, and Brett A. Fox all of Springfield, Austin L. and Neil L. Smith, both of Sullivan, IN; two step grandchildren, Joeseph Otto and James Champion both of Terre Haute, IN; and his step great granddaughter, Chloe E. Otto. He is also survived by his brother, Gerald Fox, Mt. Lake, MN and his sister, Janice Fox, North Mankato, IL; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 18th at 2:00 p.m. (C.S.T.) at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Rev. Tom Akers is in charge of services. Burial is in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m (C.S.T.). Tuesday at the funeral home. Military graveside services will be conducted by the combined units of the Robinson American Legion Post #69, the Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549, the AmVets Post #33 and the Flat Rock American Legion Post #132. Contributions can be made to Crawford Memorial Hospital Healthworks for the Edwin Lee Fox Memorial.
