JAMES H. "DOC" KINDT
James H. "Doc" Kindt, 80, of Robinson, IL, died at 8:45 a.m. Thursday, November 16, 2006 at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center. He was born April 20, 1926 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Adolph Kindt and Clara Theim Kindt.
He served in the U. S. Air Force during WWII and was a member of the Robinson American Legion Post #69. He established his chiropractic clinic in Robinson in 1952 and operated it until 1962 when he and Dr. Gene Darnold opened the Darnold and Kindt Chiropractic Clinic until Jim's retirement in 1982. He then worked for the Robinson First National Bank for 12 years. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Robinson; a 50 year member and Past President of the Robinson Kiwanis; a past member of the Robinson Chamber of Commerce. He served on the Robinson Zoning Board and was the Zoning Administrator for a short time.
He married Mary McCord on December 21, 1963 and she survives. He is also survived by his 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Matt Cooper, Crawfordsville, IN, Julie and Brett Berry, Indianapolis, IN; his granddaughter, Shay Berry, Indianapolis; his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Annette Kindt, Fairfield Glade, TN; his sister-in-law, Lynn McCord, Robinson; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ron and Kate McCord, Robinson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 20th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Pastor M. Erich Knippa and Pastor Kevin Wyckoff is in charge of services. Burial is in the Robinson New Cemetery, Robinson, IL. Visitation is from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 19th. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice with envelopes at the funeral home.
