RAYMOND ALAN LEWIS
Raymond Alan Lewis, 73 of Oblong, IL, died at 3:53 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2006 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN. He was born February 2, 1933 in Robinson, IL, the son of Pearly Picket Lewis and Minnie Ola Dispennet Lewis. Raymond was a Fit Test Crate Tester at Briggs Mfg. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Highland Baptist Church in Robinson.
He married Anne Hayes on March 24, 1956 and she survives. He is also survived by his 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Jana Lewis, Palestine, Gary Lewis, Robinson, Mick and Debbie Lewis, Oblong; 6 grandchildren, Travis and his wife, Melinda Lewis, Robinson, Jay Lewis, Palestine, Chris Lewis, Oblong, Marcus Lewis, with the U. S. Army in South Carolina, Jynni Lewis, Palestine, and Tristin Lewis, Oblong; his 2 sisters, Neva McIntosh, Robinson and Erma Purcell, Robinson; his brother and sister-in-law, Don and Reva Lewis, Robinson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Phoebe Dudley; a half brother, Roscoe Butler; and an infant brother, Veo Lewis.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 25th at 10:30 a.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Rev. Randy Mullinax is in charge of services. Burial is in the Kirk Cemetery, rural Robinson. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 24th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society with envelopes available at the funeral home.
