JOHN S. LONG
John S. Long, 81, of rural Robinson, IL, died at 11:30 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2006 at Richland Care and Rehabilitation, Olney, IL. He was born February 10, 1926 in Detroit, MI, the son of John Louis Long and Betty Keenan Long. He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He was a controller at the Pottery in Robinson for over 10 years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, Robinson; the Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549, Robinson American Legion Post #69, Robinson Masonic Lodge #250, and Valley of Danville Consistory Scottish Rite.
He married Joyce Conat September 18, 1964 and she survives. He is also survived by 3 sons and a daughter-in-law, Kevin and Janice Long, Coral Spring, FL, Michael Conat, Robinson, Charles Conat, Mt. Carmel; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Gordon Mapley, Lapeer, MI, Cheryl and Jerry Hooks, Robinson; 1 daughter-in-law, Karen Long, Pompano Beach, FL; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 son, Clayton Long.
Memorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2006 at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, 1800 N. Allen St, Robinson, IL. The Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
