ROBERT G. LOWE

Robert G. Lowe, 81 of Robinson, IL, died at 10:25 a.m. Monday, October 30, 2006 at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson. He was born November 22, 1924 in New Hebron, the son of Wilbur T. Lowe and Ellen Lindley Lowe. He was a truck driver for 43 years. He drove cross country for 20 years, for Briggs Mfg. for 10 years and for Refiners Transport for 14 years. He was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church, Robinson; the Robinson Elks Lodge #1188; and a lifetime member of the Robinson Moose Lodge.

He married Thelma M. Elkins November 6, 1943 and she survives. He is also survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Richard "Rick" and Norma Lowe, Robinson, Stephen and Vicky Lowe, Evansville, IN; 5 grandchildren and their spouses, Dee Dee and Bryan Barbee, Robinson, Marcy and Nathan Adams, Palestine, Christy and Josh Gladsteen, Scottsburg, IN, Tiffany Lowe, Scottsburg, IN, and Keri Ann and Glen Reddemann, Priorlake, MN; 1 grandson and his wife, Robby and Tanya Lowe, Scottsburg, IN; 5 great granddaughters; 2 great grandsons; his 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Geraldine Dix, Robinson, and Betty and Winfred Dressback, Effingham, IL; his sister-in-law, Polly Lowe, Robinson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers, Ashbel Lowe and Rex Lowe.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 2, 2006 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson. Rev. Joe Griffith is in charge of services. Burial is in the Hutsonville Cemetery, Hutsonville, IL. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. to service time at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Memorials may be made to the Otterbein United Methodist Church, Robinson with envelopes available at the funeral home.
