DONALD EARL MCCOY

Donald Earl McCoy, 74, formerly of rural Flat Rock, IL, died at 12:23 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2006 at Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, IL. He was born March 25, 1932 in Kansas, IL, the son of Mearl McCoy and Grace Dorrough McCoy. He served in the U. S. Army in Korea. He worked in the warehouse at Briggs Pottery from 1964-1996. He was a member of the Prairie Grove Baptist Church.

He married Loma Kay Myer July 18, 1962 and she preceded him in death December 17, 2001. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, Susan McCoy in 1972.

He is survived by 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Teresa McCoy, Flat Rock, Doug McCoy, Ballwin, MO, Tom and Tammy McCoy, rural Flat Rock; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Brian Dart, Robinson; Cindy and Denny Noblit, Oblong; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer and Ashley McCoy, Zachary, Ethan, and Paige McCoy, Austin and Dylan Dart, Dustin, Branden, and Dalton Noblit; 3 brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Larry and Ruby Myer, Ron and Brenda Myer, Robert Myer, all of rural Robinson; 1 aunt, Scharlene Manning, Willow Hill; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 25, 2006 at Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson with Rev. Gene Ellis officiating. Burial will be in the Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, September 24th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children with envelopes available at the funeral home.
