VERDI KILLEEN MITCHELL

Verdi Killeen Mitchell, 99, of Robinson, IL died at 7:55 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at Miller's Convalescent Center, Robinson, IL. She was born August 10, 1907 in Porterville, IL the daughter of Carl Burner and Devannah (Morris) Burner. She was a cashier in the office at L. S. Heath for 42 years. She was a member for over 60 years of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ where she served at Elder Emeritus. She was also Past Matron and member of the Katherine Chapter Order of Eastern Star #637.

She married Veo Mitchell August 15, 1925 and he preceded her in death March 23, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Lowell Mitchell; 1 grandson, Gregory Mitchell; 1 sister, Twila Burris; and her son-in-law, Robert Parsons.

Survivors include one granddaughter, Teresa Mitchell Brigham of Robinson; 3 great granddaughters, Sarah Brigham of Valparaiso, IN, Valerie Brigham and Jessica and James Goodwin and great-great grandson, Trenton of Robinson. She is also survived by a sister, Eileen Stantz, a niece, Carolyn and Jack Doty, a great-niece, Karla and Joe McKiernan, and 2 great-great nieces all of Arnold, Missouri; and daughter-in-law, Pat Parsons of Robinson

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2006 at Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson with Pastor Julie Western officiating. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-10:30 Saturday preceding the services. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church or to the charity of donor's choice.
