Lou Ella O'Dell, 73 of rural Robinson, IL, died at Terre Haute Regional Hospital at 10:05 a.m. Monday, August 22, 2006. She was born April 6, 1933 in McLeansboro, IL, the daughter of Frank and Ina Jane Hicks.
She attended the Hardinville Baptist Church and the Prairie Grove Baptist Church in rural Crawford County, IL. She was retired from Gallos in the meat department where she worked for several years. She never met a cat or dog she didn't love. She also loved her flower garden and enjoyed God's green earth. Lou Ella had many loving and caring friends that helped her through her journey.
She married Murrell E. O'Dell on July 14, 1951 and he preceded her in death on January 28, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her half brother.
She is survived by her son, Steve O'Dell rural Robinson; her granddaughter and her husband, Stephanie and Josh Rodgers, Mattoon; and a half-brother; and many friends.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 25th at 2:00 p.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Pastor Mike Irvin is in charge of the services. Burial is in the Mound Cemetery, Jasper County, IL. Visitation is from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 24th.
