WALTER LEE POTTS

Walter Lee Potts, 91 of Vincennes, IN, formerly of Palestine, IL, died at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at Crestview Nursing Center, Vincennes. He was born March 23, 1915 in Allendale, IL, the son of Malcomb Potts and Lena Pierson Potts.

He married Ruth Smith who preceded him in death. He then married Ruby Beel who also preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his parents; his brother, Phillip Potts; and 2 sisters Juanita Barnhart and Mary Beal. Survivors include 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Ruth and Charles Liston, Casper, WY, Karen Sager, Vincennes, IN; his son, Michael Dennis Potts, Hutsonville; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Josephine Graham of Kansas; and 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Martha Potts, Bridgeport, IL, and Chester and Lynette Potts of New Jersey.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 15, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine with Rev. John Barnhart officiating. Burial will follow in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Rural Palestine. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.
