HELEN ALETHA SECREST

Helen Aletha Secrest, 98, formerly of Robinson, IL, died January 27, 2006 at the Southfield Nursing Home, South Bend, Indiana. She was born June 7, 1907 in Chrisman County, IL, the daughter of Ira Oce Sinclair and Clara (Thompson) Sinclair. She received her nurse's training at Michael Reese's Hospital, Chicago, IL. She worked in South Bend and in Crawford County, IL as a Public Nurse.

She married Lawrence E. Gordon November 19, 1950 and together they ran the Gordon Drug Store on the East side of the Square in Robinson. He preceded her in death on May 10, 1970. She married C. Grady Secrest on July 3, 1990 and he preceded her in death in 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Virginia Kemper; and 2 brothers, Guy and Irl O. Sinclair.

She is survived by her niece and caretaker, Jacqueline Eufemi, South Bend, IN; several great nieces and nephews; and several cousins.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2006 at the Robinson New Cemetery with Rev. Max Borah officiating. The Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
