RALPH EDWARD TURPIN

Ralph Edward Turpin, 54 of Robinson, IL, died at 3:32 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL of a heart condition. He was born October 8, 1951 in Mt. Vernon, IL, the son of Melvin L. Turpin and Mary E. (Van Schoyck) Turpin. He served in the U. S. Navy, was a member of the Robinson American Legion Post #4549 and the Robinson V. F. W. Post #69. He was employed as a Conductor on the Illinois Central Railroad for 17 years and then was employed by Sparks Automotive for the past 10 years.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Wright of Robinson; his 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca "Becky" and Stan Littlejohn, West Union, Jenny and Tray Powers, Mt. Carmel, Jody and Rick Florey, Cowden; 7 grandchildren; 2 brothers and sister-in-law, Toney Turpin, Robinson, Albert and Joyce Turpin, Sylvester, GA; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Fayma and Richard Shedelbower, Robinson, Loretta and Steve Moeller, Channahon, IL. He was preceded in death by his father.

Private family funeral services will be held Friday September 22nd at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Rev. Paul Alumbaugh will be in charge of the service. Burial is in the Robinson New Cemetery.
