FLOY WHITMER
Floy Whitmer, 92, of Robinson, IL, died at 5:52. a.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center, Robinson. She was born February 22, 1914 in rural Flat Rock, IL, the daughter of Everett E. Cawood and Clara Lola (Siler) Cawood. She was a homemaker and sold Avon for over 30 years. She was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church, Robinson; past Worthy Matron of the Katherine Chapter Order of Eastern Star # 637 of which she was a member for 50 years and Secretary for many years; past Worthy High Priestess of White Shrine of Jerusalem; and was an avid bowler for many years.
She married Harold Whitmer June 25, 1939 and he preceded her in death July 16, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Richard Whitmer on October 16, 1995; 1 brother, Walter Cawood; and 1 sister, Lena Mae Dalton.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sara Joann and Allen Smith, Robinson; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; her sister, Belva Dollahan, Midland, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2006 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson with Rev. Bill Wiggs, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery, Robinson. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, August 18th at the funeral home. Order of Eastern Star services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday after visitation. Memorials may be made to the Katherine Chapter Order of Eastern Star #637 with envelopes available at the funeral home.
