Beulah Shipman, 75, of rural Robinson, IL, died at 4:35 a.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 in the comfort of her home. She was born June 22, 1941 in Robinson, IL the daughter of John & Rosetta (Doyle) Watts, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Larry Shipman on April 11, 1959, and he preceded her in death on July 16, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Cora; by her daughter-in-law, Karen (Anthis) Shipman; and by four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her four children & their spouses, Brenda Lee Shipman (Robinson, IL), James Dee & Jeri (Allender) Shipman (Bridgeport, IL), Connie Lyn Snow (Robinson, IL), Daniel Wayne & Vonnie (Tracy) Shipman (Flat Rock, IL); 18 grandchildren, Brandon & Rebecca Shipman, Meranda & Chris Snider, Danielle & Allen Bower, Joshua & Amanda (Banning) Shipman, Nickie & Joe-Joe Brinson, Jessie & Joni (Miller) Shipman, Adria Shipman, Joseph Peterson, Trisha & Andrew Kidwell, Dustin Shipman, Matthew Shipman, and Summer Shipman; 28 great-grandchildren, Tosha, Timmy, C.J., Desiree, Tyson, Tiann, Lillie, Avery, Dalton, Kylee, Zophia, Anna, Allison, Ralynn, Ryley, Vincent, Chase, Shaylee, Magen, Faith, Maddex, Kevaeh, Colten, Veronica, Elliott, Miley, Madison, Harley, as well as a Baby Shipman and Baby Kidwell on the way. She is also survived by two brothers & sisters-in-law, Jerry & Norma Watts (Duncanville, IL) and Tommy & Shirley Watts (Duncanville, IL); by two sisters & a brother-in-law, Linda Zulueta (Robinson, IL) and Christine & Mike Clauss (Flat Rock, IL); as well as many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, and cousins. Beulah worked for a number of local businesses, including the Woodworth Hotel, the Ettelbrick Shoe Factory, TRW, and the Skyscraper Restaurant, which she and Larry bought and operated for several years. She was a member and past-president of the Robinson V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. Beulah will long be remembered for her love of fishing, and could often be found with a fishing pole in hand. She also enjoyed camping and listening to bluegrass music. She loved her church family at Prior Grove Baptist Church, where she and Larry rededicated their lives to Christ. She will be forever missed by family and friends alike. A time of visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23rd at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. A memorial service will follow and will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with burial following in the Hardinville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Prior Grove Baptist Church, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
