Byrl Eugene Cafin

Byrl Eugene Cafin, 76, of Robinson, formerly of Palestine died Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 2:14 p.m. He was born October 21, 1934 in Flat Rock, the son of Rollie Cafin and Grace Gaddis Cafin. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Robinson V.F.W. Post #4549. He was a retired truck driver.He is survived by his son, Greg Cafin, Palestine; his daughter, Kathy Myers, Lawrenceville; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dean & Geneva Cafin, Palestine, and Joe & Mary Cafin, Lake Station, IN; his sister, Mary Cleo Johns, Dallas, TX; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers and sisters.Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 17, 2011 at the Palestine Cemetery, with Rev. John Brand officiating. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the combined units of the Robinson American Legion Post # 69 and the Robinson V.F.W. Post # 4549 and the Amvets Post #33. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine is in charge of services.
