Dorothy Laverne Garrard

Dorothy Laverne Garrard, 76 of Harrisburg, IL formerly of Crawford County, IL, died at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville early Saturday morning, March 7, 2015. She had been a resident of Saline Care Center Harrisburg. She was born October 16, 1938 in Oblong Township, the daughter of John D. Osborn and Vivian Benjamin Osborn. She was a homemaker and is survived by 4 children, Larry Garrard, Seymour, IN, Bob and Lorri Garrard, Annapolis, Shanna Ryan Waggoner, Freetown, IN, and Mary Beard, Louisville, KY; 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Thelma Osborn, LaPorte, IN, Estel and Annabelle Osborn, Michigan City, IN; her sister and brother-in-law, Cecily and Harold Shipman, Porterville; and her sister-in-law, Nancy Osborn, Robinson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 2 brothers, Jack and David Osborn. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 10th at Prairie Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson, from noon Tuesday until 2:00 p.m. prior to the graveside service.
