Obituary for Laura Louise Bell

Laura Louise Bell, 83, of Robinson, IL, died at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Heritage Health in Robinson. She was born July 15, 1935 in Flat Rock, IL, the daughter of Sam Treadway & Velma (Spade) Treadway, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Louis J. Bell on May 26, 1978, and he preceded her in death on April 19, 2000. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter and a great-grandson; as well as her sisters, Doris Sanders, Virginia Cummins, Ruth Wells, Wanda Treadway; and brothers, John Treadway, Charles Treadway and George Treadway; and brother-in-law, Lloyd Shelton.

She is survived by her children & their spouses, Margaret & Charles White (Robinson, IL), Debra & Omar Hodgens (El Dorado, KS), Gloria Swayze (El Dorado, KS), Harold & Debbie Bachelor (Robinson, IL), Tina & Richard Gray (Robinson, IL), and Brandon & Linda Bell (Robinson, IL); by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; by her sister, Betty Shelton (Lawrenceville, IL); by her brother, Paul & wife Janet Treadway (Flat Rock, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews.

Laura was born and raised in the Flat Rock area, where she attended school. Her life was dedicated to raising her children and providing a good home for them. As the years went by, her grandchildren quickly became the objects of her affection, and there was nothing she enjoyed more than loving on them. She also enjoyed the outdoors and could often be found tending to her flowers or watching for the neighborhood cardinals and hummingbirds that would come pay her a visit.

It was Laura’s wish to be cremated without any public services. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements
