Mildred “Millie” Powden, 97, of Olney, IL, formerly of Robinson, IL, died at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Helia Healthcare in Olney, IL. She was born in Thayer, KS on August 28, 1919, the daughter of Oliver Meeker & Susan (Fesler) Meeker, both of whom preceded her in death. Millie married Gerald Powden on August 17, 1940, and he preceded her in death on May 8, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her son, Gerald Herbert Powden; by her daughter, Winefred Ann Powden; by her sisters, Helen Meeker and Hazelle Weidmann; by her brother, Herbert Meeker; and by her brother-in-law, Bob Powden. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Powden, and by several nieces and nephews. Millie was a dedicated housewife, having spent all of her life alongside her “Pude”, with whom she has finally been reunited. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 18th at the Robinson New Cemetery, with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating the service. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements. In honor of her love of animals, memorials may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, with envelopes available at the graveside service and at the funeral home.
