Robert E. Stifle

Robert E. €œBob€ Stifle, 78, of Robinson, IL, died at 3:10 p.m. (E.S.T.) Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN. He was born August 27, 1931 in LaMotte Township, IL, the son of Lawrence Stifle and Marie Gilliland Stifle. He was a Robinson City Policeman from November 1964 to February 1987. He was a life member of the Robinson BPOE Lodge #1188, served as a city councilman for 2 terms, was an executive board member of ERBA, and a member of the Highland Avenue Baptist Church, Robinson.Bob married Doris Chapman on January 4, 1952 and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Dee Dee and J. C. Brookhart, Robinson; his grandson, Bowe Cravens, Robinson; 2 granddaughters, Chloe Brookhart and Sophie Brookhart, both of Bridgeport; his brother-in-law and his wife, John and Lois Voorhies, Robinson; brother-in-law, Kenneth Chapman, Effingham, sister-in-law and her husband, Louise and Don Turner, Olney; sister-in-law, Macie Hollinger, VA; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Jackie Voorhies.Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson with Revs. Jerry and Dwight McDaniel officiating. Private graveside services will be held at a later date in the Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 20th preceding the memorial service. Memorials may be made to ERBA with envelopes available at the funeral home.
