Ronald A. Laski, Sr., 69, of Palestine died at Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at South Wood Health & Rehabilitation Center in Terre Haute, IN. He was born on January 11, 1942 in Chicago, IL, the son of Walter Laski & Josephine Batt. Ron was a veteran, serving his country in the U.S. Navy. He worked in maintenance for Victor Dana for 35 years, and was a member of the Robinson Elks Lodge #1188 and the Palestine Eagles. He was also a past member of the AmVets Post #33 and was active in the Cub Scouts. He was a collector of coins and stamps.Ron married Sarah Caywood on November 28, 1964 and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Jason Vaughn (Sullivan, IN); his son, Ronald A. Laski, Jr. (Robinson); five grandchildren, Nicholas & Christopher Ramsey (Sullivan, IN) Tristen & Nathan Bolinger (Sullivan, IN); step-granddaughter, Sarah & Cody Payton (Chrisman, IL); and a step-great-grandson, Aiden Payton (Chrisman); two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert & Faith Laski (Lake Zurich, IL), Ted & Alice Laski (Omaha, NE); his sister and brother-in-law, Mary & Ted Bloniarz (Eugene, OR); as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Larry Laski.A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 30th at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Robinson, with Father Aloysius Okey Ndeanaefo officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 29th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Saturday preceding mass at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Memorials may be made to the Palestine Preservation Projects Society, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
