Shirley Ann West

Shirley Ann West, 74 of Terre Haute, IN formerly of Crawford County, IL died Friday, March 16, 2012 at 2:35 a.m. at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. She was born in Palestine, IL, on March 1, 1938, the daughter of Omar Woodard and Sarah Brashear Woodard. Shirley worked for Hills-Ames retail store for several years and then worked as a sales associate at SteinMart in Terre Haute for 8 years. She was a former President of the Marshall, IL Jaycee Wives and Past President of the €œBanks of the Wabash Chorus Waves€ of Terre Haute. She married Ron West on April 21, 1957 and he survives. She is also survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Rehann West, Kevin and Melinda West; her two daughters and son-in-law, Vickie and Mike Lowe, Michelle Hughes, all of Terre Haute. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Anthony Lowe, Michael Adam Lowe, Dustin West, Kaleb West, Shelby West, Lindsay West, Collin Hughes, Austin Bauer, and Logan Nathan Ryan West; her great-grand daughter, Jayleigh Lowe. She is survived by her mother, Sarah Woodard Kimmel, Lawrenceville, IL; her brother and sister-in-law, Don and Dorothy Woodard, California; and her sister, Marilyn Smith, Texas.She was preceded in death by her father Omar Woodard and her step-father, Clyde Kimmel.A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, IL. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the €œBanks of the Wabash Chorus€.
