Alan Daniel Truitt

Alan Daniel Truitt, 59 of Longview TX, formerly of Robinson, IL died Saturday, March 23, 2013. He was born July 4, 1953 in Robinson, IL, the son of Daniel Truitt and Mary Kibler Truitt. Alan was a member of the Outlaws and Crawford County State Bank Fast Pitch Softball teams; graduated from Robinson High School in 1971; graduated from Kilgore College, Kilgore, TX; from LeTourneau University with a Bachelor€™s Degree, Longview, TX; from the University of Texas, Tyler, TX with a Master€™s Degree in Business (Industrial Technology); and was a member of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Longview, TX. He was as Associate Dean at KC-Longview, TX.Alan married Tonya Liston on October 15, 1983 and she survives. He is also survived by mother, Mary Truitt, Robinson; his children, Taylea L. Truitt, San Antonio, TX, Willy (Jennifer) Truitt, Indianapolis, IN, Reginald (Jodi) Truitt, Robinson; his 2 grandchildren, Aaron T. Truitt and Ryan D. Truitt; his mother-in-law, Sarah Liston, Palestine; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law,Twyla and Mike O'Neal, rural Palestine, his aunts and uncles, Raymond (Bud) and Bernice Kibler, Robinson and Ken and Grace Truitt, Robinson; 2 nieces; 4 great nephews; and 1 great niece.He was preceded in death by his father, H. Daniel Truitt; his father-in-law, Frank Liston; his grandparents, Elva and Raymond Kibler and Lucy and Harold Truitt.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson with Rev. John Brand officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery, Palestine. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 28th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Robinson High School Academic Foundation with envelopes available at the funeral home.
