Alice J. Bertram

Alice J. Bertram, 67 of Robinson, IL, died at 8:15 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2008 at the home of her son Nolan Carter in Lawrenceville, IL. She was born February 1, 1941 in Olney, IL, the daughter of Arnold S. Ayres and Hattie Lorraine Sehie Ayres. She worked for L.S. Heath and Leaf Candy Companies for 27 years. She was a member of the Faith Church of the Nazarene in Lawrenceville and the Robinson V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #4549.She married Darrell Carter in 1958 and he preceded her in death October 17, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Adrian Ayres. She married Fred Bertram November 20, 1993, and he survives. She is also survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Nolan and Cathy Carter, Lawrenceville; two granddaughters, Ashley Carter, Robinson and Chelsea Carter, Lawrenceville; her great-grandson, Quintin, Robinson; one brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Laura June Ayres, Flat Rock; two sisters and her brother-in-law, Pauline Shehorn, Tucson, AZ and Arlene and Don Stanley, Olney; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be Friday, May 23rd at 10:30 a.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Rev. Tom Akers will be in charge of services. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine. Visitation will be Thursday, May 22nd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, envelopes at the funeral home.
