Almada Isabel Giles

Almada Isabel Giles, 101, of Flat Rock, IL, died at 6:40 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2012 at her daughter€™s residence. She was born November 12, 1910 in Pacific Junction, Iowa, the daughter of Henry E. Robinson and Ella Jones Robinson. She was a seamstress in a sewing factory, a member of the Flat Rock Christian Church and AARP.Almada married Fred Giles in 1980 and he preceded her in death in 1981. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her two sons, George G. Forbes and Clarence Forbes; her 5 brothers, Alfred, Gilbert, Bill, Lester, and David Robinson; and her sister, Candice Burton.She is survived by 5 daughters and sons-in-law, Glenna Camden, Flat Rock, Edna McDonald, Nebraska City, NE, Hazel and William Tigges, Bullhead, AZ, Cecelia and John England, Hermiston, OR, Caroline Otto, Ontario, CA; and several grand- children, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 9, 2012 at the Jones Cemetery, rural Flat Rock, IL with Pastor Skip Thomas officiating. Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice with envelopes available at the Goodwine Funeral Home or they may be mailed to Good Samaritan Hospice, 520 S. Seventh St, Vincennes, IN 47591. The Goodwine Funeral Home, Flat Rock is in charge of arrangements.
