Barbara Jennings

Barbara Jennings, 83, of Oblong, IL, died at 8:13 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017 at the Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong. She was born January 28, 1934 in Robinson, IL, the daughter of Walter & Marie (Purcell) Leggitt, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Warren Jennings on May 31, 1953 and he preceded her in death on November 3, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Malcolm Leggitt. She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Lori & Galen Umfleet (Oblong, IL); by 4 grandchildren, Samantha Byrley & husband Shawn (Robinson, IL), Lyndsay Lack & her husband Thurion (Moberly, MO), Paul Williams & fiancée Christin Warren (Oblong, IL), Jenna Umfleet (West Palm Beach, FL); by 9 great grandchildren, Maddelyn Byrley, T. J. Lack, Elizabeth Lack, Darcy Lack, Amelia Lack, Sabrina Lack, James Gregory Williams, Ethyn Warren, and Caitlyn Warren; by her brother & sister-in-law, Wally & Carolyn Leggitt (Robinson, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. Barbara was a 1952 graduate of Palestine High School. Her life was dedicated to caring for her home and her family. She was a longtime member of the Palestine First Christian Church. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 12th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Funeral services will follow and will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday with Pastor Dee Wolfe officiating the service. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Ridgeview Care Center, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
