Betty Boren, 83, of Robinson, IL, died at 3:15 p.m. (EST) on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. She was born June 9, 1934 in Lukin, IL, the daughter of Charles Jefferson Pinkstaff & Beulah (Foss) Pinkstaff, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Alvin Boren on October 10, 1952, and he preceded her in death on June 6, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Bill Pinkstaff. She is survived by her son, Jeff Boren (Wheat Ridge, CO); by her daughter, Cathy Hartleroad (Robinson, IL); by her grandson, Michael & Heather Hartleroad; by her great-granddaughter, Hadley Hartleroad; by her brothers, Paul & Diane Pinkstaff (Tamaroa, IL) and Bob & Kay Pinkstaff (Morris, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. Betty was a 1952 graduate of Sumner High School. She was a longtime employee of Robinson IGA, where she worked for 35 years. She always had her nose to the grindstone, and even when she was home, she busied herself out in her yard and loved every minute of it. While she enjoyed yardwork, she loved her family even more. Betty made it a point to keep her family close, visiting and calling those she loved daily. She will long be remembered as a loving and caring soul who found the good in everybody. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. A private family graveside will be held at the Robinson New Cemetery. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
