Betty June Coulter

Betty Coulter, 91, of Oblong, formerly of Robinson, died at 10:25 p.m. on September 23, 2014 in the comfort of her daughter’s home. She was born September 13, 1923 in Fort Recovery, OH, the daughter of Calvin C. Arnold & Jetta Doty. She worked in production and in the lab for L.S. Heath & Sons and retired after 20 years. She was a longtime and very active member of the First Baptist Church in Robinson, where she was a Sunday school teacher for both children and adults. She was also involved with mission work and numerous church functions. Betty enjoyed staying active and enjoyed sewing, quilting, shopping, and gardening. Her love of fishing was trumped only by her love of family. Betty married Thomas Creighton Coulter on July 19, 1950, and he preceded her in death on January 13, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her former husband, Frances Antonio; her parents; her daughter, Connie Lou Antonio; her son, Bill Antonio; her brothers, Oscar Leon Arnold, Calvin Arnold, Jack Arnold; and sister & brother-in-law, Mary Pauline & Jim Courtney. She is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law, Phyllis & Harold Irvin (Oblong, IL), Peggy Hill (Robinson, IL), Betty Jo & David Newlin (Trimble, IL), and Rhonda Goff (Trimble, IL); her son, Norvil Coulter (Porterville, IL); 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 27 great-great-grandchildren; her brother & sister-in-law, Norvil & Mamie Arnold; her sisters-in-law, Martha Arnold, Linda Arnold. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 27th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Burial will follow in the Robinson New Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 on Saturday. Memorials may be made to Riley’s Children’s Hospital or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
