Betty L. Hussey, 82, of Robinson, IL, died at 5:05 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Heritage Health in Robinson, IL. She was born August 2, 1934 in Robinson, the daughter of Prior Harvey & Gladys (Gupton) Harvey, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her step-mother, Maxine; by her sisters-in-law, Char Harvey and Mary Hussey; by her brother-in-law, Bob Hussey; and by her grandsons Andrew Hussey & Bryant Roberts. She married William J. Hussey Sr. on December 23, 1955 and he survives. She is also survived by her son & daughter-in-law, William Hussey, Jr. & Myrna K. Tinsley Hussey (Mt. Carmel, IL); by her daughter & son-in-law, Vivian G. Roberts & Gary D. Roberts (Robinson, IL); by her grandchildren & their spouses, Heather & Zac Stephens (Robinson, IL), Crystal & Curt Parker (Clarksville, TN), J.J. Roberts & Stevee Schupp (Robinson, IL), Daniel Hussey (Robinson, IL); by her great-grandchildren, Dylyn, Kenton, Matthew, and Jace (all of Clarksville, TN), Maddux (Flat Rock, IL), and Laine and Landree (both of Robinson, IL); by her brother & sister-in-law, Robert L. & Pat Harvey (Henderson, KY); by her sisters-in-law, Jean Fox (Vincennes, IN) and Margie Devin (Vincennes, IN); by her brother-in-law, Eugene Stanley (Vincennes, IN); as well as several nieces and nephews. Betty was a 1952 graduate of Robinson High School. She went on to work for L.S. Heath and Oblong Grain for a time before moving on to Marathon Oil Company. She started working in the cafeteria and worked her way up to the office, where she stayed until she retired in 1986. Away from work, she stayed active in the American Legion Auxiliary, and was both a Past President and Past District President. She enjoyed playing bingo and could often be found watching her grandchildren’s ballgames. She was an avid NASCAR fan, but never had a favorite driver (so long as it wasn’t the Busch brothers). Her family has lost a one-of-a-kind soul, a matriarch, and a friend. A time of visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 3rd at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. A graveside service will immediately follow and will be held at the Robinson New Cemetery. Celebrant Curt Goodwine will officiate the service.
