Betty M. Perdun, 74, of Fairview Heights, IL (formerly of Marion, IL) died at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at the Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO. She was born October 19, 1937 in Lamotte Township, Crawford County, IL, the daughter of Lewis Hout and Lilly Mills Hout. She was an executive secretary for the CNA Insurance Company in Chicago and for the Peoria City Manager. She retired from the River to River Corp. as an executive secretary.She is survived by her husband Jerry Perdun whom she married on July 16, 1993; and two sisters, Judy (Melvin) Spinner, Palestine, IL and Karen (Ralph) Ellis, Pine Hurst, NC. She is also survived by four step-children, Trudy (Julie) Perdun, Elk Grove, CA, Carrie (Brad) Mohr, Sacramento, CA, Jerry Perdun Jr., Creve Couer, IL, and Michael (Angie) Perdun, Washington, IL; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Julie on August 17, 2006.Betty had a love for life and her family. She was an avid proponent for healthcare and senior citizens. She took pride in her work at River to River and was overjoyed with the opening of three new facilities while there. She will be remembered for her loving and caring way and the joy to those whose lives she touched. The Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society with envelopes available at the funeral home. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
