Betty McCleave, 83, of Flat Rock, IL passed away at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at St. Mary€™s Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.Betty was born in Honey Creek Township in Crawford Co. on December 27, 1928, the daughter of Chester and Rhoda (Pinkstaff) Seaney. Betty graduated from the Good Samaritan School of Nursing in 1950. She was employed by Texaco, Inc. as the First Aid Room nurse in Lawrenceville, IL from 1961-1968. She worked at the Methodist Villiage for a short time and then enjoyed a career in obstetrics at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL.She was an active member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Flat Rock and served as a Sunday school teacher for the Bed Babies. Betty also taught in Vacation Bible School and was a member of the church council. She was director of Women€™s Missionary Union for many years, as well as a member of Hettie Cole Mission Circle. Betty treasured her church, family, neighbors and life-long friends.On August 31, 1950 Betty married Hugh McCleave, who preceded her in death on August 5, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Daniel McCleave; her brothers & sisters-in-law, Bill & Rosie Seaney, Paul & Alice Seaney, Philip Seaney; and her sister, Raeburn Alice Seaney.She is survived by her children & their spouses, Terry & Pam McCleave (Marthasville, MO), Cindy & Mike Wooten, (Germantown, TN), Angie & Sid Whittington (Cape Girardeau, MO), Randy & Pam McCleave (Flat Rock, IL), Nancy & Jack Deeter (Batavia, IL), and Lynn McCleave (Flat Rock, IL); 11 grandchildren; Elana, Eric, Elizabeth, Sarah, Alicia, Sid, Daci, Laurel, AJ, Kaci and Katelyn; 10 great grandchildren; Tailer, Katy, Allie, Abigail, Patrick, Austin, Jax, Payton, Kade and Ty; her brother and sister-in-law Chet and Rosa Seaney; her sister-in-law, Patty (Seaney) Potter; and many nieces and nephews.Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 17th at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Flat Rock, IL at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Mulvaney officiating. Burial will follow at the Jones Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 16th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the church, and preceding the service from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or the First Missionary Baptist Church Memorial Fund and will be received at the church or may be mailed C/O Goodwine Funeral Homes 303 East Main, Robinson, IL.
