Beverly Ann Mccallister

Beverly Ann McCallister, 75, of Oakley, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, with her family by her side.

Bev was born May 16, 1942, in Robinson, IL, to Earl Eugene and Marjorie Christine (Burress) Gower. She married Robert Lee McCallister in Granite City, IL, on October 22, 1962. She retired from Illinois Power. Bev was an avid reader, but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She was survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert "Mac" McCallister, who passed on June 25, 2022. She was also survived by one son, Michael (Tammy) McCallister of Cerro Gordo; two granddaughters, Angelique Leeann and Autumn Louise; two brothers, Roger Leon Gower of Champaign, IL, and Gregory Eugene (Sue) Gower of Hutsonville, IL; one sister, Chloe Earlene Gower of Tilden, IL; two nieces, two nephews, three great-nieces and one great-nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In honor of her wishes, private family services will be held at the Hutsonville Cemetery, where her remains will be interred alongside her husband, Mac. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of these arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to "Cancer Care Center" or to "St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital".
