Beverly J. Bomer, 83, of Robinson, IL, died December 17, 2020 at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson. She was born August 7, 1937 in Robinson, IL, the tenth of ten children born to Paul L. Piersall & Ruth Willard Piersall, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Robert "Bob" L. Bomer on December 24, 1954, and he preceded her in death on April 10, 2016. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, John Piersall, Oscar Piersall, Claude Piersall, Paul J. Piersall, and Leo Piersall, Sr.; by two sisters, Dottie Chapman and Nina Mae Fenton. She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Keith & Diann Bomer (Oblong, IL); by her daughter & son-in-law, Brenda Kay & Greg K. Henry (Oblong, IL); by her grandchildren & their spouses, Joshua & Stephanie Henry (Mahomet, IL), Robert & Judilee Henry (Houston, TX), Benjamin R. Bomer (Daegu, South Korea), Kara N. & Aaron Kurtz (Newton, IL), Trish & A.J. Martin (St. Joseph, IL); by her great-grandchildren, Aidan Henry, Liam Henry, Charlie M. Martin, Noah R. Kurtz, and Micah J. Kurtz; by her brother, George Piersall (Robinson, IL); by her sister, Neva Mendenhall (Robinson, IL); as well as by several nieces and nephews. By all accounts, Beverly Bomer was a tireless worker. Whether it was helping to staff a number of local businesses through Westaff, running the Paris and Robinson Sears stores, or helping Bob flip a total of 17 houses, it wouldn't be anything for her to put in 14 hours of work a day! It could also be said that she was a great manager of people. Beverly had a knack of not only seeing a person's potential, but of helping to drive them towards who they could be as well. It was her love of people that drew her to card games, as these presented her with opportunities to spend time with others. Anyone who knew her could attest to the fact that her grandchildren meant the world to her, and she was known to spoil them every chance she could. In fact, her generosity spilled over into every facet of her life. Hers was a life that was lived outwardly, evidence of a faith that has now been made sight. We find peace and assurance knowing that, though she is absent from the body, she is present with the Lord. Due to the newly-increased public safety measures being enforced by the State of Illinois, funeral services will be private. However, a live stream of her service will be available to the public starting at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22nd. This can be done on Goodwine Funeral Homes' Facebook page or by going to https://www.goodwinefuneralhomes.com/live-stream/live-stream . Beverly will be laid to rest in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to either the "Heir Christian Service Camp" or to "Lydia's Closet Consortium".
