He was born November 27, 1951 in Monroe County, IN, the son of Cecil Smith & Norma Matheney Smith. He married Donna Slavens in 1969, and she preceded him in death. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter in infancy; his first wife, Donna Smith; and two brothers, Kenny Smith and Timmy Smith. Bobby was a painter for several years, and was a member of the Painter’s Union Local #1705 in Robinson. He will be remembered for his love of nature, as evidenced by the time he spent outside watching for deer and his love of fishing. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24th at the Oak Grove Cemetery in rural Palestine, with Ronnie Crawford officiating the service. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bobby Smith Memorial Fund, with checks payable to Goodwine Funeral Homes.
