Bruce Wayne “Batman” Rich, 62, of Robinson, IL, died at 5:03 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson. He was born July 12, 1953 in Lawrenceville, the son of Leo Rich & Brenna Brian Rich. Bruce married Deborah Dix on January 16, 1976, and she survives. He is also survived by his daughters, Keturah Rich & Dan Bice (Robinson, IL) and Miranda & Jason Hewing (Yale, IL); his father, Leo Rich (Pinkstaff, IL); his sisters & brothers-in-law, Jane & Jerry Potts (TX) and Diana Butler & Eric Hook (Palestine, IL); his brothers, Brian Rich (Pinkstaff, IL) and Jag Rich (Pinkstaff, IL); as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Brenna Rich; his in-laws, Barbara & Gene Dix; and by his granddaughter, Gracee Bice. Bruce was a 1971 graduate of Lawrenceville High School. He went on to work for Marathon for 30 years, before retiring as an Operator in Wastewater Treatment. Away from work, he enjoyed spending time outside fishing and hunting. Bruce had a passion for guns, and collected quite a number over the years. He will forever be remembered for the love that he had for his wife and his girls. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19th at the funeral home, with Pastor Adam Conder officiating the service. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine. Memorials may be made to either the Oak Grove Cemetery Association or to the Crawford County Humane Society, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
