Carey Lee Clements

February 28, 1978 — August 28, 2024

Carey Lee Clements, 46, of Robinson, IL, passed away on August 28, 2024, in the comfort of her home surrounded by the love of her family. Born on February 28, 1978, in Jackson, MI, Carey's journey through life was marked by warmth, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to her loved ones. Survived by her devoted husband of nearly 25 years, F. Patrick Clements, Carey's legacy of love lives on in the hearts of her family: her parents, Bonnie & Jim Wellman, and her children, Conner (Sahara) Allen, Zachery (Ella) Clements, and Alysha Clements (Jacob Pommerehn). They will forever cherish the memories of a woman whose life was a testament to the power of caring and connection. It was evident that Carey's family was the cornerstone of her world, and this was most visible in the love she had for her precious grandchildren, Evie and Dexterity Allen, who were the light of her life. She was a treasured sister to Duane (Jess) Allen, Kelly (Ryan) Conard, Rusty (Alex) Wellman, and Doug (Chelsea) Wellman; a beloved aunt to Camryn, Abby, Bree, Peyton, Kennedy, Adam (Kylie and daughter Harper), Hannah, Morgan, Ryleigh, Kara, Ryan, Anthony, Chris, Josh, Ian, and Kayden; and a dear sister-in-law to Stacie (Andy) Fisher, and their children, Shelby Waggoner and Caleb Fisher, will surely never forget the warmth of her spirit. Carey was preceded in death by her grandparents, R.G. & Patricia Raymond and Dudley & Emily Allen, and her niece, Jordyn Conard.

Carey's educational journey began in Parma, MI, and culminated in a recently-earned Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resource Management from Columbia Southern University, attained through her hallmark determination and grit. Professionally, Carey found her niche within the HR department of Hershey over the past year. Her innate desire to stand up and advocate for others and her genuine enjoyment of her role resonated within the workplace, epitomizing her career marked by passion and purpose.

Carey's personal interests painted the picture of a woman who embraced life's simple pleasures. An aficionado of Lifetime and the Hallmark Channel, she was known to indulge in the seasonal delight of Christmas in July. A true homebody, she reveled in the comfort of her home, though some of her happiest moments were spent driving around town in her golf cart with Pat at her side. But nothing filled her heart with more joy than simply spoiling her grandchildren, who were the apples of their grandma's eye.

Her presence will be profoundly missed, yet the influence of Carey Clements will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to be graced by her unwavering light. Carey's story is not one of finality, but a beautiful legacy that will be lovingly carried forward by those whose lives she touched so deeply.

It was her wish to be cremated, and the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of these arrangements. Her family will conduct a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 31st, at Tompkins Township Hall (9999 Tompkins Rd, Rives Junction, MI 49277).
