Carl Eugene Heldebrandt Jr

Carl Eugene Heldebrandt, Jr., 48, of Palestine, IL, died Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. He was born August 20, 1965 in Hillsboro, IL, the son of Carl Eugene Heldebrandt, Sr. and Barbara Sattley Heldebrandt. Carl was the LTS Supervisor at the Robinson Correctional Center for a number of years. He was also a member of the Highland Church of Christ and of the Palestine Masonic Lodge #849. He was avid fitness enthusiast who enjoyed hiking & running. Carl is survived by his wife Shawna Shelton Heldebrandt and his daughters, Jessica Heldebrandt and Jennifer Heldebrandt (both of Palestine, IL). He is also survived by his parents, Carl Eugene Heldebrandt, Sr. and Barbara Sattley Heldebrandt (Nokomis, IL); his brothers & sisters-in-law, Scott & Lisa Heldebrandt (Nokomis, IL), Shawn & Cathy Heldebrandt (Tulsa, OK); Wayne Heldebrandt (Chicago, IL), Loren Heldebrandt (Centralia, IL); his sister, Linda (Centralia); as well as several nieces & nephews. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine, IL. There will be no funeral service. Memorials may be made to the Oblong Children’s Home, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
