Carolyn Biggs

Carolyn Biggs, wife of Raymond Biggs and mother of Diana Biggs, passed away on January 17, 2015 in Vincennes, IN. She was proud of the town of Palestine, and called it home from the time she and Raymond wed in 1958 until her death. From 1958 until 1987, she dedicated her life to education, as a grade school teacher and as a school board member in Palestine. She was also a member of the Retired Teachers Association, the SE LaMotte Home Extension, the Current Topics Club, and the Palestine First Presbyterian Church. The highlight of her life came in her later years, when she and Raymond traveled all over Western Europe, and she was able to experience that which she had taught for so many years. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21st at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. A graveside service will follow at the Palestine Cemetery, with Rev. Tom Akers officiating the service. In honor of Carolyn’s love of reading, memorials may be made to the Palestine Public Library, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
