Charles Dwight Eveland, 69, of Robinson, IL, died at 8:20 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2013 at his residence. He was born February 1, 1944 in Robinson, IL, the son of Roscoe Eveland and Lucy Dunlap Eveland. Charles proudly served in the U. S. Navy on the USS Charles H. Roan. He was a member of the Robinson V.F.W. Post #4549, the Robinson Masonic Lodge #250, the Robinson Painters Union #1705, and the Flat Rock Black Powder Club. An avid sports fan, Chuck loved driving to Chicago to watch Bears games and also enjoyed golfing. He was a supervisor at Lark Painting for several years.Charles married Sylvia Chiasson in 1968. He then married Judy Martin on May 7, 1982 and she preceded him in death on May 22, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his father, Roscoe Eveland; his brother, Everett Eveland; and his sister, Patsy Eveland.He is survived by his 2 daughters, Rhonda Eveland, Pittsfield, MA, and Robin and her husband, Dale Esson, Pittsfield, MA; 2 sons, J. B and his wife, Brenda Strange, Oblong, IL and Jeffery Strange, Terre Haute, IN; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Jerry Rigg of FL, Sandy and Richard Mitchell, Attica, IL, Melody Ramsey and her significant other, Miguel Villa, Robinson; his brother and sister-in-law, Darrell and Bertha Eveland, Atwood; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 6th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Graveside services will follow in the Hardinville Cemetery, with Russell Shotwell to officiate the service. Military graveside services will be conducted by the combined units of the Palestine Am Vets Post # 33, Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549; Robinson American Legion Post #69, and the Flat Rock American Legion Post #132.
