Charles Wayne Knoblett, 73, of Robinson, IL died at 11:32 p.m. (EST) on Monday, August 18, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. He was born December 1, 1940, in rural Robinson, the son of Charles Knoblett & Helen White Knoblett. Wayne graduated from Robinson High School in the Class of 1959. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was the greens keeper for Oak Glen Golf Course for 39 years. He was a member of the Porterville Congregational Christian Church. Wayne was an avid reader, enjoying many westerns and Christian books. He also enjoyed fishing and was well known in his family for his cooked fish. Wayne married Joan Pyle on June 12, 1971, and she survives. He is also survived by his son & daughter-in-law Patrick & Leigh Ann Knoblett (Louisville, KY); 2 grandchildren, Bryant & Brianna Knoblett; three sisters, Norma & Don Thompson (Des Moines, WA) Bernice & Robert Boyd (Thomasville, NC), Betty & Richard Boyd (Oblong, IL); as well as numerous nieces and nephews; two special friends, Marvin & Alicia Evans. He was preceded in death by his parents; as well as his brother, Richard Finley Knoblett. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26th at the Porterville Congregational Christian Church. A memorial dinner will be held following the service. Memorials may be made to Porterville Congregational Christian Church Fellowship Hall Fund, with envelopes available at the church. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
