Christopher Dwayne Lowe, 36, of Palestine, IL, died Tuesday, September 12, 2017 of an undiagnosed heart condition. He was born December 26, 1980 in St. Louis, MO to Brenda (Nixon) Lowe Way and Charles Lowe. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Bob Way, mother, Brenda Way, paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather. He is survived by his sister, Patches (Eric) Biernbaum and nephews, Logan and August (Palestine, IL); by his brother, Steven (Lacey) Lowe and nephew, Porter (Champaign, IL); by his brother, Seth (Kerri) Lowe and nephew, Acadence and niece, Pandora (Brownstown, IL); grandmother, Ruth Nixon (Portia, AR); and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Chris was a graduate of Palestine High School. Growing up, he lived in Fenton, MO and Palestine, IL. Chris was a proud member of the Abatement Workers Local #207, working in insulation and asbestos remediation. He was an avid sports fan. Chris enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially Friday nights with his Aunt Lisa (Jim) Hyde and family. His nephews were the light of his life and he will be dearly missed. A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 23rd at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. A memorial service will immediately follow and will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Following the memorial service, a carry-in dinner will be held in the Pioneer Room, located at Palestine Village Hall. Burial will take place in the Palestine Cemetery at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Palestine Academic Foundation, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
