Clare L. "Bodie" Inboden

Clare L “Bodie” Inboden, 88, formerly of Flat Rock, passed away February 22nd, 2014 at 9:50pm at the Gentlecare Nursing Home in Vincennes, IN. He was born February 4th, 1926 in Robinson, IL, the son of Charles Leo and Cleo Maude (Lackey) Inboden. Clare retired from Marathon, where he worked as a crude unit operator. He served in the Army during WWII in the European Theatre where he earned a Purple Heart. . He was a lifetime member of the Flat Rock Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Flat Rock First United Methodist Church. He married Barbara Jean Wilson on July 31st, 1949 and she survives of Lawrenceville. Also surviving are his four children; Nita Stone and husband Jim, of Palestine, Patty Hoalt and husband Tim, of Vincennes IN and Sandy Benson and husband Roger of Rose Hill IL, and Jack Inboden and wife Jeanne of Lawrenceville IL. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Harry and Caroline Wilson, and several nieces and nephews. Clare was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Gayle Inboden. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 26th at 10:30 am at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Burial will follow at the Jones Cemetery in Flat Rock. Military services will be conducted by the combined units of the Robinson American Legion Post 69, Robinson V.F. W. Post 69, Palestine Am Vets Post #33 and the Flat Rock American Legion Post #132. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 25th at the funeral home. Masonic Services will be held at 7:00pm on Tuesday at the funeral home following visitation. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Oblong Children’s Home or Pine Haven.
