Connie Sue Utterback, 71, of Robinson, IL died at 2:25 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson. She was born on November 15, 1946 in Robinson, IL, the daughter of Oral Utterback & Betty (Hall) Utterback, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her half-brother, Johnnie Currie, and by her half-sister, Jean Currie. She is survived by her sisters, Donna Sullivan (Robinson, IL), Mary Jane & Jack Meek (Robinson, IL), Barbara & John White (Robinson, IL) and Ruth & Dave Rich (Robinson, IL); by her brother, Jerry & Denise Utterback (Robinson, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. Connie grew up in Robinson and was a 1966 graduate of Robinson High School. Following graduation, she enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and proudly served her country during the Vietnam War. Following a medical discharge in 1969, she came back home to Robinson, where she got on as a cashier at IGA, where she would work for the next 31 years. Away from work, Connie was an avid reader and could almost always be found wrapped up in a novel. Her family will remember an easy-going soul who simply had a heart of gold. She would do anything for those she loved, and they could never forget her. She was a longtime member of the American Legion Post #69. It was Connie’s wish to be cremated without any public service. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
