Don York

Don York, 76, of Robinson died Friday, September 12, 2014 at Heritage Health in Robinson. He was born July 17, 1938, the son of Oliver Otis York & Lula Icy Earnest York. He served his country as a soldier in the U.S. Army. Back home, he was an independent contractor for many years and owned his own construction business. He also enjoyed raising quarter horses. Don is survived by his sister, Beverly McDowell (Olney, IL); his daughter & son-in-law, Kelly & Richard Cheek (Oblong, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Darrel York and Jim York; his brother Jackie Gene York in infancy; as well as several aunts and uncles. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23rd at the Oblong Cemetery. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
