Donald Eugene Dugan, 81, of Palestine died at 4:47 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2015. He was born February 9, 1934 in Carlisle, IN, the son of Eugene Dugan & Jessie Robbins Dugan. Don married his wife Donna on February 26, 1953, and she survives. He is also survived by his children, Bart Dugan & wife Twyla (La Porte, IN), Kip Dugan (La Porte, IN), and Starr Grimes (Palestine, IL); his grandchildren, Mandi & Jason McKay, Lindi & Jason Bonesteel, Breeanne Dugan, and Kaitlynn Dugan; his great-grandchildren, Swayzie Bonesteel, Jaylin Bonesteel, and Allison McKay; his sisters, Ruth Matthews (Clearwater, FL) and Wanda Samm & husband Everett (Farmersburg, IN). He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Donna Birch; his son, Kim Michael; and his daughter, Kelly Jo. Don worked as a heating & air conditioning man for years in La Porte, IN before retiring and relocating to Palestine, IL. In Palestine, he was an active member of the First Christian Church, where he served as a long-time janitor. He was also a very active and longtime member of the Lions Club. His free time was enjoyed outdoors, from deer hunting to fishing, and Don especially enjoyed tending to his garden. He will be remembered for his love of Chicago sports and for the love and dedication he gave to his wife, Donna. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 6th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
