Donald Zane Kimberlin

Donald Zane Kimberlin, 56, of Palestine, IL, died at 12:49 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at his home. He was born October 30, 1961 in Lancaster, CA the son of Billy Lee Kimberlin & Sara (Elder) Kimberlin. He is survived by his daughter, Kayla Kimberlin (Olney, IL); by his grandson, Perry Kimberlin (Olney, IL); by his mother, Sara Kimberlin (Palestine, IL); by his sister, Sherry Horton (Palestine, IL); by his brothers, John Garrard (Palestine, IL) and Tim Garrard; by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members; and by his good friend, Sally. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Lee Kimberlin; and by his granddaughter, Haylee Ramsey. Zane was a 1979 graduate of Palestine High School. He was, by all accounts, a man who loved the outdoors. In his younger days, Zane enjoyed riding his horse, Beamer, and was also an avid mushroom hunter. While he enjoyed these pastimes, he was a fisherman, through and through. The only thing that brought him more joy than reeling in a catch from the river was spending time with those he loved. Services will be private with the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine in charge of arrangements.
