Donna Dugan

Donna Dugan, 79, of Palestine, IL, died at 10:18 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Heritage Health in Robinson, IL. She was born March 28, 1936 in La Porte, IN, the daughter of Bruno & Helen Dobbs. Donna married Donald Dugan on February 26, 1953, and he preceded her in death on June 2, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her father, Bruno Dobbs; her son, Kim Michael; by her daughter, Kelly Jo; and by her son-in-law, Jack Grimes, Jr. She is survived by her mother, Helen Dobbs Ludwig (La Porte, IN); her children, Bart Dugan & wife Twyla (La Porte, IN), Kip Dugan (La Porte, IN), and Starr Grimes (Palestine, IL); her grandchildren, Mandi & Jason McKay, Lindi & Jason Bonesteel, Breeanne Dugan, and Kaitlynn Dugan; her great-grandchildren, Swayzie Bonesteel, Jaylin Bonesteel, and Allison McKay; her sister, Jane & Ross Reddington (Oklahoma City, OK); her brother, Thomas & Shelley Dobbs (South Bend, IN); as well as several nieces and nephews. Donna was a city cab and bus driver before retiring as a dispatcher for TransPorte (the City of La Porte’s Department of Transportation). She was an avid reader, and also enjoyed sewing and knitting for many years. She was a longtime member of the Palestine First Christian Church and was also involved with the Palestine Lions Club. She will be remembered for the love and attention she gave to her family, especially to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A time of visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 19th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. A memorial service will follow the visitation and will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Sarah Carpenter to officiate the service. Memorials may be made to either the Palestine Lions Club or to the Alzheimer’s Association, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
