Donna Gayle Littlejohn

Donna Gayle Littlejohn, 79, of Oblong, IL, went to be with her Lord at 3:10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong. She was born October 25, 1935 in rural Robinson, IL, the daughter of Harry & Gladys (Brittenham) Lawhead, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Woody Lawhead, Ralph Lawhead, and Harry A. Lawhead; by her sister, Margaret Mehler; by her father-in-law & mother-in-law, Forest & Fern Littlejohn; by her nephews, Doug Lawhead and Tony Lawhead; and by her niece, Sherry Mehler Halterman. Donna married Myrl Littlejohn on July 28, 1954 and he survives, having celebrated their 60th anniversary last year. She is also survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Cindy & Jack Jenkins (Oblong, IL); by her son & daughter-in-law, Randy & Jodi Littlejohn (Oblong, IL); by her grandsons, Jackson & Lyndsay Jenkins (Oblong, IL) and Landon & Tara Littlejohn (Hutsonville, IL); by her granddaughters, Lyndsey Littlejohn (Oblong, IL) and LaDonna Jenkins (Champaign, IL); by her great-grandchildren, Raelyn, Reghan, and Reese Jenkins; Tenley and Thane Littlejohn; by her sisters-in-law, Betty Lawhead (Robinson, IL), Nina Rodrick (Oblong, IL), Dale Davis (Oblong, IL), Evea Miller (Willow Hill, IL), Beulah Inboden (Hardinville, IL); by her brothers-in-law, Larry Littlejohn (Robinson, IL) and Jerry Littlejohn (Olney, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. Donna was a 1954 graduate of Oblong High School. Her high school years were spent working at Ma Burtons Drug Store. Later on, she worked for Harmon’s Drug Store as well as the Oblong Index. She was also a volunteer at Ridgeview Care Center. Donna was a charter member of the Oblong Sunbeam Extension Unit, a member of the Oblong Century Club, and Central United Methodist Women, having attended the Central United Methodist Church in Oblong for several years. Her free time was dedicated to reading, traveling, camping, shopping, dancing, and listening to music. She will be remembered for the joy she found in her kitchen, for the home she made for her family, and for the love she gave to each and every one of them. A time of visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 on Thursday, September 10th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Robinson New Cemetery. Memorials may be made to either the Oblong School Academic Foundation or to the Ridgeview Care Center Activity Fund, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
