Donnis Leroy Shidler

Donnis LeRoy Shidler, 71, of Robinson passed away on August 27th, 2014 at 5:18am at his home in Robinson. He was born September 25th, 1942 in Bond Township, the son of Ernest and Lucile (Moore) Shidler. He graduated Oblong High School in the class of 1961. He served in the US Navy from 1961-1965. He worked as a mechanic with the Operating Engineers Local #841. Don married Paula Kinney on October 31st, 1965 and she preceded him in death on November 11th, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and his son Donnis Eric Shidler. Survivors include son Jason Shidler and wife Valerie of Robinson, daughter Marti Eunice and husband Melvin of Robinson, daughter Nikki Shidler of Robinson, and daughter-in-law Nancy Shidler and Terry Biernbaum of Robinson. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Erica Sikorski, Eric, Bobbie and James Shidler, Brad, Kaycee, and Jayci Dunlap, Gracie and Ethan Shidler, Kalyn Shidler, and Monica Semstrote, and 9 great-grandchildren, sister Patricia Deisher, sister Sharon Potts and husband Rick, and brother Andy Shidler and wife Sharon, and sister-in-law Janet Morey and husband Don. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Friday August 29th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine with Pastor Jeff Brinkman officiating. Burial will follow at the Hutsonville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00am until the time of service on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Transportation Fund.
