Donovan Wayne Douglas

Donovan Wayne Douglas, 40, of Robinson, IL, died on April 1, 2023, a casualty of the devastating tornado that swept through Robinson, IL. Donovan was born on December 7, 1982, in Lawrenceville, IL, the son of Ronald "Kenny" Douglas & Diana Stone, both of whom survive. He is also survived by his son Dason Douglas; his brother, Lyle "Derrick" Douglas & Heaven Casas; his sister, Karen Douglas; his grandma, Mary Ann Douglas; his special friend, Ashley Songer; his nieces, Mckea Rhodes, Mckylee Rhodes, Mia Holliday and Halle Douglas; his nephew Maximus Douglas Kendall; as well as several aunts, and cousins. They will remember Donovan as a man who valued fitness and well-being. This was most evident in his love for exercise, boxing, and yard work. His passion for sports was unwavering as well, as the man was a diehard Chicago Cubs baseball and Chicago Bears football fan. Donovan and son Dason were both huge Superman fans and enjoyed visiting the museum in Metropolis, IL.

Though he enjoyed sports, fitness, and music, Donovan's family was central to his very being. His world revolved around his adored son, Dason, who was the brightest star in his sky. He was known to care for his grandmother and anyone else around him, often putting their needs before his own. He also played a pivotal role in the lives of his nieces and nephews, always eager to help care for them and share their joys and challenges, as well as making smoothies with his nephew Max. The countless memories created with his loved ones will forever be cherished and held dear in their minds and hearts.

A time of visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 10th, at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Private burial services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to assist the family in this time of devastation and grief, and checks may be made payable to "Connie Calvert."
