Doris Daughterty Matheney

Doris Daugherty Matheney, 77 of Palestine, IL, died at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 9, 2007 at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center in Robinson. She was born October 24, 1929 in Palestine, the daughter of Jesse McCammon and Janie Kimberlin McCammon. She was a homemaker, a member of the Flat Rock American Legion Auxillary Post #132, and a member of the Palestine Amvets Auxillary Post #33.She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Steve Martin, Palestine; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Brenda Daugherty, Palestine; Greg Daugherty and Janis Loughery, Palestine; 6 grandchildren, Stephanie Decker, Garrison Weck, Jassen Daugherty, Kandice Langley, Dee Christy, and Katherine Daugherty; 13 great grandchildren; 4 sisters and a brother-in-law, Juanita Richards, Odessa, TX, Mary Dennis Schwartz, Rockford, Beulah and Bob Bowen, Palestine, Shirley McCammon, Palestine; her brother, Pete McCammon, Palestine; her brother-in-law, Bud Martin, Palestine. She married Lester “Skip” Daugherty and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Kristy Daugherty; 2 sisters, Helen Martin and Naomi Fern McCammon; her 2 brothers, Gerald Lloyd McCammon and Orland McCammon; her sister-in-law, Maxine McCammon; and 2 brothers-in-law, Ralph Richards and Paul Swartz.Funeral services are Wednesday, September 12th at 10:00 a.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Pastor Dwight McDaniel is in charge of services. Burial is in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation is from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
